About this vacancy and our client

We are delighted to be working on an exclusive vacancy for a compassionate, ambitious Veterinary Surgeon to join a successful, RCVS-accredited practice in Durham. This lovely practice is a part of a market-leading veterinary group who are paving the way in the industry for promoting a healthy work-life balance for their team, and offering full flexibility to accommodate your personal commitments outside of work. This fantastic practice sees a diverse and varied small animal caseload including exotics, rabbits, small furries and a mixture of first opinion and referral cases. The practice features excellent on-site diagnostic facilities and has separate waiting areas and hospital wards for different species. Well situated in the beautiful city of Durham as well as having branch practices in surrounding areas, this renowned veterinary group is offering the perfect role for a dedicated and progressive Vet who enjoys working in a team and strives to deliver gold standard care to all household pets, from dwarf hamsters to giant dog breeds!

The Role

This role would be perfectly suited to a confident Veterinary Surgeon, ideally with a minimum of 2 years’ qualified experience. There is also scope to accommodate a more senior role for a vet who has been qualified for several years and is ready to take the next step in their career – so whatever your experience level, we would love to hear from you. Your special interests will be accommodated and encouraged, although as the practice sees a higher-than-average exotics and small furries caseload one of these would be a particularly advantageous interest to have. Your day-to-day will consist of a mixture of consults and routine first opinion surgeries, however the practice does see referral cases as well should you be interested in developing your skills in this area. The practice team strives to deliver gold standard care at all times and has a loyal, ever-growing client base – so you must have excellent communication skills to keep building strong relationships with your clients. There is a unique amount of flexibility within the role in terms of hours, and in the interest of promoting a healthy work-life balance they pride themselves on accommodating special requests within the team.
