Rare Head Nurse opportunity for a large, experienced nursing team within care driven group near Stockport in Greater Manchester. 

We are recruiting for a fantastic opportunity for a role in leadership to help manage a large nursing team. The nursing team is so large that our client has two HVNs- so you would be working alongside a caring, driven and lovely HVN to manage the clinical nursing team together.

We are looking for a passionate individual and enthusiastic team player with proven management and leadership skills. The ideal candidate will be a conscientious, dedicated and a caring Registered Veterinary Nurse. They will collaborate with other senior leaders in the practice to manage, develop and support the nursing team within a very large first opinion branch.

The group performs both routine and advanced surgical procedures, they are well equipped with digital radiography (including dental), ultrasound and endoscopy.

Our client offers a supportive learning environment for their nurses- CPD is encouraged and funded. Many of their nurses have achieved or are working towards certificates in further studies (anaesthesia, surgery, dentistry) and/or advanced diplomas.

The group host regular in-house CPD, hold ‘Clinical Club’ meetings every 3 months and the nurses are heavily involved in the RCVS Practice Standards Scheme, infection control, health and safety and quality improvement.

This role is ideally full time (at least 4 working days per week) but flexible working options will be considered.

The ideal candidate should have:

  • RVN status
  • Proven leadership skills, preferably with experience of managing people.
  • Passion for supporting others.
  • Ability to mentor, coach and develop team members.
  • Confidence in decision making and comfortable working closely with another in the same role.

This would also be an ideal opportunity for a RVN looking to take their first step into leadership, or a RVN who already has strong management experience.
