About the practice

We are delighted to be working with a growing, independent practice in North Northamptonshire who are seeking a confident and compassionate Small Animal Vet to join their team. Our client is currently in the process of building an even larger state of the art hospital, so this is a really exciting time to join them!

If you are looking for a role where you can have complete freedom to manage your own client base and patients, and even decorate your own consult room(!), this is the role for you.

This is a lovely surgery that boasts state of the art equipment, where individuality is encouraged and client relationships are a top priority – the existing team pride themselves on having wonderful rapport with their clients and truly valuing case continuity, from first vaccinations to end of life care.

Based near Rushden, this care driven practice is within easy reach for commuters from Northamptonshire, Bedfordshire, and Cambridgeshire.

You’ll be welcomed into a kind, supportive team of vets, nurses and support staff of varying special interests and experience levels. This fabulous role will be best suited to a confident Vet with a minimum of 3 years’ qualified experience where you can continue to develop your professional skillset within a truly supportive environment with a huge emphasis on employee satisfaction and wellbeing.

You should enjoy working with a first opinion, small animal caseload with an emphasis on building lifelong relationships with your own clients and their pets – you’ll be responsible for building and managing your own client base, as well as having complete freedom to personalise your own consult room and make the space your own.

You’ll be encouraged to pursue your special interests as a vet as well as diversifying your own skillset as much as possible. This is a full-time role worked over a 4 day or 5 day week (whichever you’d prefer!) With 1:5 weekends on a rota and no OOH/on-call – supporting an excellent work-life balance. You’ll work with 15min consults as standard to provide ample time to examine, diagnose and treat your patients to the best of your abilities.

Who are we looking for?

• You must be registered with the RCVS
•  You must be a confident Vet with at least 3 years’ qualified experience
• A genuine passion for building lifelong relationships with your clients
• Confident in building, managing and developing your personal client base
• Confident in identifying and pursuing your special clinical interests
• Enjoy consults and spending time with your clients
• Enjoy working as part of a team as well as having the confidence to manage your own workload independently
