About the role and practice.

Our client is a brand-new multidisciplinary referral hospital that cover the central London and surrounding area. With a complete compliment of specialist-led services, including soft-tissue surgery, internal medicine, ophthalmology, anaesthesia, cardiology, dermatology, diagnostic imaging, neurology, orthopaedic surgery & emergency and critical care.

As the hospital is so new, it is an exciting time to join and make an integral difference from the beginning!

We are seeking an experienced RVN with a huge passion for ward nursing, whilst having a real enthusiasm to learn and work with others. You will work with the entire leadership nursing team to help maintain a happy and efficient working environment.

This role requires strong, decisive, clear communication and the ability to inspire and motivate the team to achieve the hospital’s goals, whilst still focusing on patient care and teamwork.

Duties and hours

Your role is primarily clinical, providing wards nursing and care for inpatients across all specialist disciplines; including regular monitoring, phlebotomy, nutritional management, fluid therapy, feeding tube, central line, urinary catheter & drain maintenance & care, assisting with diagnostic procedures, emergency nursing & intensive care.

The Lead Wards role will also oversee hospitalisation records in the SmartFlow system to ensure all inpatients are appropriately managed. As a focused role, you will primarily work within wards, but on occasion you may be asked to work in other areas.

As this role provides leadership to both the day and night nursing team, the rota pattern will consist of a variety of shifts to ensure crossover with your team. A fully twilight rota pattern could be considered if to the preference of the candidate, where shift times can be discussed. This position will also share patient flow responsibilities to schedule and coordinate case throughput across all departments of the hospital alongside the other lead nurses.
