We are working on a fantastic opportunity with a celebrated referral practice in Gloucestershire, who are seeking a confident Referral Night RVN to join them on a permanent basis. This amazing practice is one of the best in the region, featuring outstanding facilities in referral disciplines including ophthalmology, cardiology and advanced diagnostic and surgical facilities. You’ll be welcomed into a large, supportive team of more than 20 RVNs including a designated nights team, so this role will be perfect for someone who loves working in a sociable, fast-paced environment. The practice is ideally placed in a beautiful area of South Gloucestershire, close to the Cotswolds and within driving distance of Cheltenham and Bristol.
The Role
As a Referral Night RVN, you should have a passion for out of hours work and all that comes with it. You should love working with inpatients and providing gold standard care to the animals in your care – whilst being the sort of person to remain calm and collected in a stressful emergency situation. Previous nights and/or referral experience would be beneficial, but is not essential as full training will be provided. However, you must have a strong desire to pursue a career in referrals and out of hours work even if you don’t have a huge amount of prior experience. Ideally you will be a few years’ qualified and will be confident working independently with a challenging and diverse caseload, and making decisions with your patients’ best interests at heart.
Experience / Who we are looking for
• You must be qualified and registered with the RCVS
• Referral experience would be a distinct advantage but is not essential as full training will be provided
• Nights experience would be a distinct advantage but is not essential as full training will be provided
• Confident in all general nursing duties
• Comfortable in sole charge
• Committed to providing gold standard care
