About the practice
We are a working with a friendly RCVS accredited hospital that work to a very high standard of patient care with separate cat, dog and exotic wards, in house laboratory and digital x-ray. They have a superb, spacious purpose-built hospital with 6 operating theatres and multiple consulting rooms.
Our client has an experienced small animal vet team (12 vets) who are supported by a skilled nursing team of 18!
You will be working within a fast-paced environment with a focus on developing your nursing skills. With a fantastic team of Auxiliaries who look after all prep and cleaning of theatres, theatre kits, laundry etc plus a team of 16 receptionists so this role is purely nursing.
Duties and hours
You would work between 8am and 8pm over a 37.5 hour working week. Shifts are either 8 or 10 hours per day- our client is happy to work around your preference. With weekends and OOH on rota.
This works out as:
- OOH Rota – 1 x Friday, Saturday, Sunday night per 18 week rota (8pm – 8am), in addition there will be 2 x Saturday day shifts (7am to 7pm or 8am to 8pm) and 2 x Sunday day shifts.
- One night during the week – currently approx. 1 night every 4 weeks.
All of the OOH/Weekends is included within the 37.5 hour working week. Lieu time is given after nights/weekends.
Who are we looking for?
The successful candidate will be enthusiastic and show initiative within the role. Our client has an Exotics Specialist so an interest in Exotics would be an advantage but not a necessity as full training in handling and nursing exotics will be provided.
