A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a confident, motivated Veterinary Surgeon to join a team-orientated practice in Northamptonshire. This progressive small animal practice sees a varied, diverse caseload including orthopaedics, and has excellent facilities on-site. This includes a dental suite, colour ultrasound, K-laser, gold standard anaesthesia monitoring equipment, and much more. You will be working with a loyal client base, built up over many years of providing outstanding levels of care, and you should be passionate about continuing to improve the fantastic service you and your team can offer to your clients and their pets. The practice is ideally located in a beautiful little town in Northamptonshire on the edge of the countryside, is also an easy drive from Cambridge or Milton Keynes, and well connected to London by rail.

The Role

You will be welcomed into a friendly, dedicated team of 5 vets with varying individual interests from dentistry to orthopaedics. As a Veterinary Surgeon, you will be involved in a mixture of routine, first opinion consults and surgeries, working up medical cases effectively and taking advantage of the excellent practice facilities to do so. In addition, you will be encouraged to be actively involved in making plans to drive the practice forward, if you are keen to take advantage of the career progression opportunities available to work towards a Senior Vet or Deputy Clinical Director position. This is a 4-day working week with 1:3 Saturday mornings and no Sundays or OOH.
You must have excellent clinical skills and knowledge in all aspects of first opinion practice and should be able to hit the ground running with a busy first opinion caseload. This will include consults, working up cases and routine surgical procedures. Orthopaedics experience would be advantageous, but is not essential.

Experience / Who we are looking for

• Qualified Veterinary Surgeon with 2+ years experience
• Ideally you’ll be confident in all routine first opinion surgeries
• Orthopaedics experience preferred but not essential
• Ideally you will be keen to move into a Senior Vet role or Deputy Clinical Director, as the practice are keen to promote internally for these more senior positions
