The history behind VN Recruitment

Laura founded Vet and Nurse (VN) Recruitment with a clear vision: to create an honest, fair and genuinely caring recruitment service for both candidates and clients. Since launching in 2015, she has focused on doing things differently from traditional agencies with a more personal and specialist approach.

Originally from Yorkshire, Laura grew up in a rural village surrounded by farmland and animals, spending much of her childhood outdoors. This upbringing, combined with a natural passion for people, shaped her career path and values.

She studied Business and HR at Northumbria University before being headhunted into IT recruitment in Manchester, where she gained valuable early experience. After returning to York, she was given the opportunity to build a veterinary recruitment division from scratch within a healthcare agency. This experience ultimately inspired the creation of Vet and Nurse (VN) Recruitment.

With over 13 years of experience in recruitment, Laura has built Vet and Nurse (VN) Recruitment into a specialist, trusted name within the veterinary sector. Within this period, she has also worked within two of the largest corporate veterinary businesses and as a result, broadened her knowledge further.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time outdoors with Archie Buss (her cocker spaniel!) going to the gym, competing in strongwoman events and watching rugby with her partner.
