Our client is a friendly, independent small animal practice located in a desirable Southwest London suburb with excellent transport links. The practice has a small but welcoming and supportive team, operating with one veterinary surgeon, one Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) and one receptionist each day. This close-knit environment allows every team member to make a real impact while delivering exceptional patient care.

The role

We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a permanent Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their team on a part-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an RVN looking to work in a supportive practice with an outstanding work/life balance.

You will be the only RVN on shift but will always work alongside a veterinary surgeon. Applications are welcomed from both newly qualified and experienced RVNs, with full support available for a confident new graduate.

The role is available to start as soon as possible, with flexibility for the right candidate.

Hours

  • Permanent part time position.
  • Wednesdays and Thursdays.
  • 8:30am – 6:00pm each shift.
  • No weekends.
  • No OOH commitment.

There is also the opportunity to pick up additional weekend or OOH shifts at the practice’s sister emergency and OOH clinic if desired.

Daily Duties

  • Providing high quality nursing care to patients.
  • Assisting the veterinary surgeon during consultations and procedures.
  • Supporting surgical cases and monitoring anaesthesia.
  • Caring for inpatients and maintaining high clinical standards.
  • Delivering excellent client care and nursing advice.
  • Helping ensure the smooth daily running of the practice.

Who are we looking for?

Our client is looking for a caring and enthusiastic Registered Veterinary Nurse who enjoys working as part of a small, collaborative team.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be a qualified Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN.) Newly qualified RVNs also welcome to apply.
  • Be confident carrying out general nursing duties
  • Have excellent communication and teamwork skills
