About the practice

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join a busy, well established small animal practice in Romford. You will be joining a supportive team of 13 vets, 12 RVNs, 10 Student Nurses and 10 Receptionists.

The purpose built practice is equipped to a high standard, with two operating theatres, digital radiography, ultrasound, in-house laboratory, endoscopy and CT facilities. The team has a wide range of clinical interests and offers excellent support for CPD and certificate level development.

Located with excellent transport links into central London and easy access to Essex countryside, the practice also offers free onsite parking.

The role

This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident Veterinary Surgeon to join a progressive team with a varied caseload. The successful candidate will be comfortable with consultations, routine surgery, diagnostics and occasional sole charge responsibilities.

Hours

Full-time hours over 4 weekdays, with a weekend rota of:

  • 1 in 6 full weekends
  • 1 in 6 Saturdays only

Part-time hours may also be considered.

Day to day duties

  • Consulting and delivering excellent client care
  • Managing a varied small animal caseload
  • Performing routine surgical procedures
  • Working collaboratively with the wider team
  • Providing high quality medical and diagnostic care

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a Veterinary Surgeon with:

  • Ideally 2 years’ UK small animal experience.
  • Strong internal medicine experience would be advantageous but not a requirement.
  • Confidence with routine surgery and diagnostics.
  • Excellent communication and client care skills.
  • A proactive and team-focused approach.
